Arneeq

Sarosh Arif is an American Muslim artist, social entrepreneur and student based in NYC. She is the founder and CEO of the philanthropic visual arts company Arneeq, a platform devoted to promoting and nurturing artistic expression and social consciousness. She is an Athena Women’s Leadership Scholar finishing up her final semester at Barnard College, Columbia University. She has a passion for journalism and politics having worked with NBC Universal, NY1 News, CAIR-NY, and the Pakistani Mission to the United Nations over the years. She is also a 2010 “Young People For” fellow; a one-year fellowship with an interactive leadership development program focusing on identifying, engaging, and empowering young progressive leaders across the country. In the fall of 2012, she was inducted into the Athena Mastermind Program, an initiative designed for up-and-coming female entrepreneurs, for her leadership in Arneeq. She was also asked to join the Board of Directors for Women in Islam, Inc., an organization of professional and social activist women dedicated to the empowerment of women as dynamic participants in civil society and as advocates for social justice. As a member of the WII team, Sarosh spearheaded the Art & Social Justice event series in collaboration with The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
